SCSI has a very limited amount of need-based scholarship/financial aid for students wishing to attend. This assistance is available for students who truly could not attend without it, therefore financial need is the top priority in awarding financial assistance. To apply, please follow these instructions:
The entire application must be completed in order to be considered, including income information (See application for required income information).
- The student must write a short essay, one page maximum, about why attending a Suzuki Institute is important to him or her. If the student is unable to write an essay for any reason (age, disability, etc.), the student can submit a YouTube or Vimeo video in which the student explains why attending a Suzuki Institute is important to him or her. The essay will be evaluated for clarity and thoughtfulness.
- The student must submit a link to a video of a polished piece of music. This can be uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo. If the piece is performed with an accompanist, the soloist must be clearly and easily heard. The selection must be from the standard Suzuki books.
- Once the application is received, SCSI will send the teacher recommendation form to the student’s teacher. The student’s family is not responsible for the submission of the teacher recommendation form.
- During the selection process, the Scholarship Committee will evaluate the commitment of the student’s family to the Suzuki Philosophy (included in the teacher evaluation), the family’s income, the essay, and the recording. Priority will be given to students who have not yet attended a Suzuki Institute.
- All applications must be submitted by May 1st, 2024
