Rising Artist: Violin, Viola, Cello (Book 4 - 6)
This program is recommended for students who are working in Suzuki Books 4-6 (Books 4-5 for Viola). This program will help students develop their instrumental skills through their daily Masterclass and Technique class, as well as improving their ensemble skills through their Repertoire class and Large Ensemble class. Students will need to be competent music readers to be comfortable at this level. Students will need to submit an audition video for placement purposes only. Please prepare 3 minutes of a recent, polished piece along with registration or email an unlisted Youtube video to: info@spacecitysuzuki.org by April 1st, 2024.
Children ages 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
Preparation
Students will need a memorized and polished piece to play in their individual Masterclass.
Students at this level should have all Suzuki pieces polished and memorized the Repertoire List. The Suzuki method relies on all students having knowledge of a common repertoire; they will be more confident and have a more enjoyable experience if they are prepared. Additionally, students will receive large ensemble music and potentially an out-of-repertoire piece (i.e. not from the Suzuki books) that needs to be learned and memorized before arriving at Institute.
Sample Schedule
Students will be placed in groups based on their age and level. This is a sample schedule only, your child’s classes may be arranged in a different order.
